Sony introduces waterproof Xperia M4 Aqua smartphone
Sony has announced a new smartphone during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Xperia M4 Aqua is a waterproof mainstream smartphone with a 5″ screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
Sony calls the M4 Aqua its ‘figurehead for the middle segment’ and the device must distinguish itself with its battery life, camera and water resistance. The battery capacity is 2400mAh and with this you can call for more than 13 hours and watch almost 7 hours of video. There is also an Ultra Stamina mode, with which basic functions of the device could be used for a week before looking for a socket.
The camera is a 13-megapixel model with a Sony Exmor RS sensor, F2.0 aperture and a light sensitivity of ISO 3200. In addition, there is a 5-megapixel front camera with wide-angle lens. The processor of the M4 Aqua is the Snapdragon 615 octacore.
Furthermore, the housing of the device is waterproof according to the IP65/8 standard. Sony supplies the smartphone with Android 5.0 Lollipop. The group does not mention an exact sale date, but sometime in the spring the M4 Aqua should appear in black, white and ‘coral’ for a suggested retail price of 299 euros.
