Sony introduces Vaio E with AMD Brazos 2.0
Sony has quietly released a new version of its Vaio E ultraportable. The manufacturer supplies its Vaio SVE1111M1E with an AMD E2-1800 APU with a clock speed of 1.7GHz and Radeon HD 7340. There is also USB 3.0 available.
AMD introduced its Brazos platform update for small and light notebooks in early June. Sony has now started delivery of one of the first systems based on Brazos 2.0. The Vaio E SVE1111M1E has housing that is in line with that of the other new Vaio E models. It is an 11.6″ laptop with a resolution of 1366×768. The apu is the AMD E2-1800. This is a dual-core with a clock speed of 1.7GHz, 1MB L2 cache and gpu part with 80 cores. the AMD E-450 apu of the previous Vaio E, the clock speeds of both the cpu and the gpu part have been increased slightly.
The Vaio E also now has a USB 3.0 port and support for Bluetooth 4.0. In addition, there are two USB 2.0 ports, a gigabit Ethernet connection and HDMI. There is 4GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory and a 500GB hard drive, with a rotation speed of 5400rpm. The laptop weighs 1.5 kg and is 23.5 mm thick. Sony supplies the device in white and pink. The price of the new Vaio E is around 500 euros.
