Sony Interactive Entertainment, or SIE, has bought the British iSize. This company specializes in deep learning and video streaming. It is not known what amount SIE paid for iSize.

SIE wrote on Thursday that iSize will help improve the company’s video streaming. ISize was founded in 2016 and has since launched several software products. One such product is BitSave, which improves the resolution of videos and reduces the bitrate. “The acquisition provides SIE with significant expertise, particularly in the field of deep learning in video processing. This will benefit the development of our video and streaming services,” SIE said.

Sony’s PlayStation branch has been trying to improve the streaming of its games for some time. Recently, SIE enabled streaming of PS5 games as part of the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.
