Sony comes with new smartwatch and bracelet with e-paper screen

Sony has announced the SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk. The SmartWatch 3 is the latest addition to the manufacturer’s smartwatch series and the first in the series with Android Wear. With the SmartBand Talk, Sony releases a bracelet with an e-paper screen.

The SmartWatch 3 is, as the name suggests, the third smartwatch that Sony releases. It is the first time that the manufacturer has opted for Android Wear designed by Google, which is striking because Sony previously said it would not use the mobile OS.

The device has a 1.6″ LCD with a resolution of 320×320 pixels. The watch must also be resistant to water. The storage memory is 4GB and the SmartWatch 3 is available in the colors black and lime green. The price is 230 euros , but Sony has not yet announced when the new smartwatch will be available.

Furthermore, the Japanese manufacturer has announced a new smart bracelet. The SmartBand Talk is intended to keep track of fitness data, but can also be used for making phone calls via the built-in microphone and speaker. It is striking that a 1.4″ e-paper screen is used, which consumes less power than an LCD and so the screen is always on.
