Sony has announced new lenses that can be attached to smartphones. There will be a model with 30x optical zoom, while there will also be a camera system where the lens itself is interchangeable.

With the DSC-QX30, Sony is releasing a camera lens that has a 30x optical zoom, with a converted range of 24mm to 720mm. The size of the sensor is 1/2.3″. Photos can be shot at ten frames per second, while Full HD video images are possible at 60fps. The DSC-QX30 is an addition to the existing models DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 , which offer 10x and 3.6x optical zoom respectively, of which Sony is also releasing new color variants in pink and copper.

Sony also comes with the ILCE-QX1, a camera system on which the user can attach his lens. Lenses with Sony’s E-mount are compatible with the QX1, while the camera itself boasts 20.1 megapixels on an aps-c sensor. The system is primarily intended for users who already own lenses and want to use them in conjunction with their smartphone.

Finally, Sony comes with the ADP-FSK1, a tilt adapter with a handle, which makes it easy to take selfies, among other things. It comes standard with the QX1 camera system, while the adapter for the other models is available as an option.

The lens and camera systems announced by Sony connect to a smartphone via WiFi. This allows the user to see the image of the lens on the screen. It is also possible to take pictures by giving the command with the smartphone. Sony products have NFC on board to be able to quickly connect to a smartphone.

Sony will release its new products from next month. The QX30 will cost 300 euros, while the QX1 is asked for 450 euros. A 16-50mm lens is supplied as standard with the QX1.
