Sony announces Xperia E4
Sony has announced a new budget smartphone. The Xperia E4 is the successor to the E3, which came on the market six months ago. The device has a 5″ screen and a MediaTek quadcore.
The Xperia E4 is an Android smartphone that has a slightly rounder design than previous Xperia devices. Perhaps Sony will continue this line to upcoming smartphones, such as the Xperia Z4, which is rumored to be the flagship model.
The Xperia E4 has a 5 “screen that shows the resolution of 960×540 pixels. The processor is the MediaTek MT6582, which offers four cores and a clock speed of 1.3GHz. The amount of working memory is 1GB and there is 8GB storage memory. The battery capacity is 2300mAh and Sony reports an ‘Ultra Stamina’ mode that should extend the battery life.
The camera is a 5-megapixel model and there is a 1.9-megapixel camera on the front. The dimensions of the smartphone are 137x75x10.5 mm and the weight is 144 grams. The phone will still run Android 4.4.4 when it comes out. When exactly that is and what the smartphone will cost is not known, but the price will probably be around that of the Xperia E3, which can be found in the Pricewatch for 150 euros. Sony releases two variants: one with single SIM and one with dual SIM option.
