Sony Announces XE70 Series UHDTVs with HDR
Sony has added the XE70 line to its range of UHDTVs with HDR. Models with four screen sizes appear in the line. Prices will be announced by Sony in July, when the TVs become available.
UHDTVs in the XE70 line will be available with screen sizes 43, 49, 55 and 65 inches. The TVs have two HDMI ports on the side and one on the bottom. In addition, there are three USB ports on the side and there is support for WiFi-n. On the bottom or side, depending on the model, there is an Ethernet port and a composite input.
The XE70 models do not have Triluminos screens, which have a somewhat larger color range, and unlike the other XE lines, they do not run Android TV. Sony speaks of a Linux OS on which the Opera browser runs and the Opera Store provides the apps. The TVs therefore do not have built-in support for Chromecast by default.
The image processor is the 4K X-Reality Pro, the remote control offers direct access to YouTube and the base of the TVs offers the possibility to hide cables so that they are not visible from the front.
