Sony announces PlayStation VR game Moss: Book II II
Polyarc is working on a successor to the 2018 VR game Moss. The new game picks up on the story of its predecessor and introduces new locations, ‘interactions and dangers’. The developer does not mention a release date yet, only that the game will appear for the PSVR.
As in the first game, in Moss: Book II, players take on the role of Quill. The mouse has just freed her uncle Argus in a castle, now the two must escape. This castle has ‘dangerous environments, challenging puzzles and enemies’. To escape, Quill gets the help of new allies and old friends, says Polyarc.
The game gets new mechanics, enemies and weapons. Quill also gains new abilities. An example of a new weapon is a hammer that can be seen in the trailer below. One of the new abilities will be Quill’s ability to modify the natural environment. This could create new paths to explore the area. Developer Polyarc told IGN that, for example, in the game players can grab creepers to build a bridge for Quill.
Moss: Book II will also make more use of the ability to charge Quill’s weapons. For example, Quill should allow players to complete puzzles in multiple ways, uncover additional secrets and better defeat enemies.
The game is currently only available for PSVR on the PlayStation 4. The first part also appeared after release for other platforms, such as on Windows and for the Oculus Quest.
