Marvel’s Iron Mar VR is coming to PlayStation VR this year. Sony showed the first teaser images of the virtual reality game, but did not show any gameplay yet. The game has been in the works for two years.

Players can crawl into the superhero’s armor in Marvel’s Iron Man VR, then fly through the air and battle enemies. The game works with the PSVR headset and two Move controllers are also required. The game is being created by developer Camouflaj, in collaboration with Sony and Marvel. On the PlayStation blog, the makers write that the VR game has been working behind the scenes for two years.

It is a full game, not a short VR experience, the makers promise. In Iron Man VR, players take on the role of inventor Tony Stark and must battle forces that try to thwart him and his company Stark Industries.

A new version of the Iron Man suit was designed for the game in collaboration with Marvel artists and costume designers. According to the developer, the design references the classic look from the comics with a modern twist. The makers call the suit Impulse Armor.

A short description promises action-packed battles and the ability to customize the Iron Man suit with new abilities in Tony Stark’s garage. There is no release date yet, but the VR game around Iron Man should be released sometime this year.
