Sonos releases passive in-wall speakers for use with the Sonos Amp
Audio manufacturer Sonos has introduced the Sonos Architectural by Sonance speakers. These are three different built-in speakers, including an outdoor model, that are specifically designed for use with the Sonos Amp amplifier.
The Sonos Architectural by Sonance speakers are intended for music lovers who prefer not to have visible speakers in their interior. On February 26, the passive In-Ceiling and In-Wall speakers will first appear on the market with a price tag of 699 euros per set. They come with a speaker grill that can be painted over in the color of the ceiling or wall. The Sonos Outdoor by Sonance speakers will follow in April, which cost 899 euros per set. According to the manufacturer, these speakers are built to withstand water, heat, freezing cold and UV radiation.
Together with speaker manufacturer Sonance, Sonos developed the new speakers specifically for use with the Sonos Amp. This amplifier, which was already announced in August last year, will be available from February 12 for 699 euros. One Amp can amplify up to three Sonos Architectural by Sonance speaker sets.
The new speaker systems support all the usual features of recent Sonos speakers, such as multi-room audio, streaming via Apple’s AirPlay 2 and – on the indoor models – calibration via TruePlay.
