Sonos lets users add second Sub to soundbar
Sonos is releasing a software update that makes it possible to add two Sub speakers to a home theater setup. Until now, only a single subwoofer could be connected.
Sonos will release the software update on Tuesday. After implementing this, users can connect a second Sonos Sub to a Sonos Arc, Beam, Playbar, Playbase or Amp. According to Sonos, adding the additional subwoofer was a much requested feature by customers and installation partners.
Users can add a second Sub to the home theater setups of the Sonos S2 app. The company reports that one of the two Subs must be third generation to connect two. It therefore seems that Sub (Gen 1) and Sub (Gen 2) can also be linked, in combination with a newer model. Sonos was not available to clarify this. Customers must download the latest Sonos software and update their system to use the feature.
