Sonos is likely to announce new speaker with voice assistant on June 6
Sonos will hold an event that revolves around remote control, but not buttons, on June 6. It seems that the company is going to announce a new speaker with voice assistant, about which some information has already appeared.
The invitation to the event, which Sonos sent to American media, features some remote controls on a table, with the text ‘You’re better than this’. This seems to indicate that the company wants to use a speaker as a universal remote control with voice control. The Verge refers to an FCC document released last month that mentions the registration of a smart speaker for home theaters.
It can be concluded from the document that the speaker will have HDMI and microphones for voice control. Last year, Sonos already announced the One speaker with Amazon Alexa support, but the company also promised to support the Google Assistant. The introductory event will take place on June 6 in San Francisco.
