Some details have emerged about the development platforms for the Snapdragon 7150 and 6150, presumably Qualcomm’s upcoming socs for midrange smartphones. The specs of the development hardware may indicate features of the soc.

The Snapdragon 6150 will probably be an 11nm soc with eight processor cores, WinFuture has derived from documentation on GitHub and LinkedIn profiles of involved Qualcomm employees. Because the development hardware has a 6″ screen of 2160×1080 pixels, 1080p screens may be the maximum resolution of the SOC.

The 7150 has a screen with 2880×1440 pixels and can probably handle higher resolutions. Both development phones have dual cameras on the rear and a single camera on the front, which has now become quite common among mid-range smartphones.

It is unknown when Qualcomm would like to present the socs, but that will probably happen next year. First, the chip designer would like to present its high-end Snapdragon 8150, the successor to the Snapdragon 845 that is now in many high-end smartphones.
