Download Xfire 1.71

Xfire is aimed at avid gamers and allows them to chat with others both within and outside of various games. One can easily see in which game the people on the contact list are playing and then simply add themselves to that game. Xfire can also help you find a fast game server with still free seats, game patches and demos can be downloaded via your own P2P network and voice chat is available. At the moment, more than 800 games are supported, of which there are several one click join and “in game chat” support. The developers have released version 1.71 with the following list of changes:

Release 1.70 had a serious crash flaw and was replaced by 1.71.

• Added kill/death statistics to Medal of Honor: Allied Assault – Breakthrough.
• Added the most recently played game to the top of the Tools | Launch menu.
• Added the ability to detect all games at the bottom of the Tools | Launch menu.
• Fixed Xfire screenshots (Scroll Lock + S) for Battlefront 1 & 2 and games with 2x and 4x antialiasing.
• Simplified the add friend interface.
• Added reporting of errors when opening a file to save a personal file transfer from a friend.
• Fixed problem with extra line ending characters in chat logs.
• Fixed extraneous lines when ending a chat in chat logs.

• Fixed scrolling problem when resizing chat windows horizontally.

Technical Notes for Release 1.70:

• Added a new in-client registration system. To see it, exit Xfire, edit your %appdata%\Xfire\XfireUser.ini file to set [ClientStatistics] RunCount=0, and then restart Xfire.
• Renamed some top-level items in XML-based skins. Unfortunately, these were not made backwards compatible, so existing XML skins must be modified. The top level elements MainWindow, ChatWindow, GroupChatWindow, InGameMainWindow, InGameAlertWindow have been renamed MainSkin, ChatSkin, GroupChatSkin, InGameMainSkin, InGameAlertSkin. Sorry about that.
• Fixed a problem with icons during Xfire game updates–after receiving a game update, most games would display with the Xfire icon until you exited and restarted Xfire.
• Added the /reconnect command to Xfire In-Game to reconnect Xfire to the servers if it has been disconnected.
• Added some support for using the mouse in the Xfire interface inside of games which is not yet visible.
