Download Xfire 1.64

Version 1.64 of Xfire was released yesterday. Xfire is a chat program for gamers and allows you to chat in text and voice both in and out of games, see what game your friends are currently playing and download game patches and demos via a private P2P network . In version 1.64, a large number of improvements have been made to the new Clans & Guilds feature, which is still in beta phase, the program can handle Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7 better, and of course the necessary new games are supported. Below are all the changes that have been made to the muck tracker since the previous entry:

• Added proper coloring of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory names
• Many improvements to the *beta* Clans & Guilds system: added more ranks, URL field, privacy settings, the ability to block clan members, and made lots of bug fixes.
• Added encryption of saved game passwords in the XfireUser.ini file.
• Fixed file transfers of files larger than 2 gigabytes.
• Fixed several crashes using xfire: URLs.
• Fixed Xfire update permission problems on 32-bit Vista.
• Fixed some graphical glitches when changing skins.

• Improved skin loading to be much, much faster.
• Changed the default Xfire skin to be in XML format.
• Updated the German version of the web site
• Fixed server information for Quake 4.
• Launching Battlefield 2 will now skip the intro movies.
• Fixed several infoview drawing problems when using Internet Explorer 7 RC1.
• Improved the look of the infoview to show more data.
• Fixed a problem when closing chat windows after getting disconnected
• Fixed a problem when removing a friend when you have a chat window open to him.
• Added a *Beta* Clan & Guild system. Each clan and guild has its own page on the Xfire site. This will allow you to more easily track large groups of gamers because your clans and guilds show up in your friends list!
