Download Xfire 1.59

Xfire is aimed at avid gamers and allows them to chat with others both within and outside of various games. One can easily see in which game the people on the contact list are playing and then simply add themselves to that game. Xfire can also help you find a fast game server with still free seats, game patches and demos can be downloaded via your own P2P network and voice chat is available. At the moment, more than 550 games are supported, of which 167 one click join and 378 in game chat support. The developers have released version 1.59 with the following list of changes:

• The Servers tab filters sport a new look along with a new capability to filter any key for any server. This can be used to find servers of a specific version of a game, for example.
• Tweaked the shutdown sequence to hopefully prevent problems with writing out the Xfire.ini file.
• Reintroduced Xfire In-Game for City of Heroes and City of Villains.
• Improved our system to block IP addresses from people trying to steal Xfire passwords.
• Fixed possible graphic issues with Xfire In-Game with many OpenGL-based games.
• Fixed a drawing problem with chat windows in Windows Vista.
• Fixed a problem when trying to transfer a 0-byte file.
• Fixed a problem downloading files for users behind bizarre routers that rewrite certain bytes of any UDP traffic they transfer.
• Improved the Tools | Options | Games tab behavior when setting the directory for Steam games.
• Fixed the Tools | Options | Games tab to work with Sony Station games.
• Fixed a crash when using the Xfire In-Game group chat list.
• Fixed a problem with Asian characters in xfire text status URLs.

Technical Notes for Release 1.59:

• The XML skin system has been significantly updated. It’s still in alpha testing, and only the standard skin is distributed in XML format at this point.
