Download X.Org 6.9 RC0

X.org is responsible for the communication between software and hardware (mouse, keyboard, displays) for *nix systems and is based on the X11 protocol. The developers are busy developing the next version and the very first release candidate has been released. The version number has arrived at 6.9 RC0 and features the following announcement:

We’re pleased to announce the availability of the zeroth release candidate of the next Xorg release, the monolithic 6.9 tree. The monolith tarball is available at:

The RC number is not accidental. This is unpolished and rough, and is only just at the point where we can usefully have large numbers of people testing it and fixing things. So please do! Bugs should be reported on the Xorg bugzilla at bugs.freedesktop.org.
