Download WordPress 3.1.1

Version 3.1.1 of WordPress has been released. With this program, which is made available under the gpl license, it is possible to set up and maintain a weblog. WordPress could be up and running in five minutes if a server with PHP and MySQL is available. In addition to blogging, it is also possible to further expand the functionality of WordPress and improve the appearance with plugins and themes to adjust. New in version 3.1 include internal linking and a new management bar. In addition, the multisite functionality has been moved to a separate place. In this first update for version 3.1, about thirty issues have been fixed.

This maintenance and security release fixes almost thirty issues in 3.1, including:

• Some security hardening to media uploads
• Performance improvements
• Fixes for IIS6 support
• Fixes for taxonomy and PATHINFO (/index.php/) permalinks
• Fixes for various query and taxonomy edge cases that caused some plugin compatibility issues
