Download WinRAR 5.40 Beta 3

RAR Labs has released the third beta release of version 5.40 of its RAR and WinRAR archiving tools. The popular compression tool is available for a variety of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and OS X. It handles most common formats – including rar, zip, cab, arj, lzh, tar, gz, ace, uue, bz2, jar, iso , 7z and z – has a skinnable interface, and support for Zip64 and multivolume cab files. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Bugs fixed:

• RAR exited with code 6 (error opening file) instead of expected code 10 (no files found) if the specified file to pack did not exist;
• WinRAR may give excessive sound notification during packaging if sound was enabled in WinRAR settings and “Place each file in separate archive” option was enabled;
• WinRAR was unable to delete a temporary file if the ZIP archive modification was aborted, due to the fact that the ZIP archive contained the read-only attribute;
• WinRAR crashed when the “Print File” command was applied to a file or folder with no extension.
