RAR Labs has released the fourth beta release of version 4.00 of its RAR and WinRAR archiving tools. The popular compression tool is available for various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. The program can handle most common formats, including rar, zip, cab, arj, lzh, tar, gz, ace, uue, bz2, jar , iso, 7z and z, has a skinnable interface, and support for zip64 and multivolume cab files. Version 4.00 includes performance improvements when extracting archives, the program is now also able to open blu-ray iso files and progress can be seen on the Windows 7 taskbar. Furthermore, support for older Windows versions has been dropped; WinRAR now requires at least Windows 2000. Beta 4 includes the following bug fixes:

Bug fixed:

• Previous beta failed to create ZIP self-extracting archives;
• Cursor was not placed to renamed file after renaming files in archive;
• Previous beta versions could truncate some of files, extracted from ISO 9660 archives.
