Download Wine 1.2 final

Spread the love

After seven release candidates, the final release of Wine version 1.2 has finally appeared. Wine is an open source implementation of the Windows API. This makes it possible to run DOS and Windows programs on Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS X, among others. A new development build is released every Friday every other week. Wine is contributed by a large group of developers, which is why it was decided to release a new build every two weeks, instead of waiting for a number of new features to be ready. Once in a while, however, a stable release becomes available and at the moment that is version 1.2. Main improvements in this release are support for 64bit applications and the interface has been refreshed.
