This weekend, not the usual two-weekly development build of Wine, but an update to the stable version 1.2 released in July. Wine, regular visitors to the Meuktracker know by now, is an open source implementation of the Windows api. This makes it possible to run DOS and Windows programs on Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS X, among others. The database with applications that work under Wine, with or without some minor adjustments, contains 15,787 titles at the time of writing. In this release, support for animated cursors has been added, several bugs have been fixed and the translations have been improved.
