Microsoft developers announced a new version of Windows Live Messenger 2009 on the Inside Windows Live Messenger blog. The update has been given version number 14.0.8064.0206 and is available from this location be downloaded as a web installer. Windows Live Messenger allows users to chat, exchange files and see each other via webcam. The 2009 version makes it possible to send text messages to others. Furthermore, the contact list has been overhauled: not only can contacts be divided into groups, but it is also possible to set contacts at the top as ‘Favorites’.
