Download Windows 98SE Unofficial SP 2.0 RC 2

On the MSFN Forum has gape of Exuberant Software just released the second release candidate of version 2.0 of the unofficial service pack for the english version of windows 98 second edition. The 15MB download consists of a collection of critical patches downloadable from Windows Update plus some third party programs and tweaks. These are only updates for the OS itself, updates such as Internet Explorer 6, DirectX 9, and the Windows Media Player will still need to be installed separately. What’s new in RC2?

• ADDED: 2 new hot fixes (192425, 246817).
• ADDED: All cosmetic enhancements of SP 1.6 such as Windows 2000 Desktop Icons. (Sorry, but they are not optional).
• FIXED: Lots of bugs are fixed. (MaxCachedIcons typo bug, %DosNameHere” bug, Verinst.exe uninstallation bug, 256-color tray icons bug, Notepad patching on Sleek bug, Executing SP from different drive bug.)
• REMOVED: General USB Mass Storage Device Drivers. (I recommend a much better generic drivers† My drivers doesn’t support some devices and it has some bugs, we have a good alternative, so I removed it.)
