Download Winamp iPod Plugin 1.33 alpha 1

The developers behind the iPod plugin for Winamp have just released the first alpha release of version 1.33. This piece of software allows the iPod to be managed from Winamp’s media library, making iTunes fairly redundant. The plugin only works with Winamp version 2.9, version 5 or higher, but not with the Lite version. This release does not yet have support for managing videos and owners of a fifth generation iPod who want to play videos are strongly advised to avoid this version. What has changed in this version is noted in the changelog:

• On-The-Go playlists finally work, saved OTG playlists are converted into regular playlists with name “On-The-Go 1″…
• Japanese version (thanks to koniyan!)
• Hotkey Ctrl-E to edit items
• Show progress in statusbar when deleting a bunch of files
• Podcast sync button (adds/removes only podcasts)
• Support for ‘Comment’ field in tracks
• Can handle databases written by “AnaPod Explorer”
• Faster browsing on the iPod because of creation of sorted index lists (as iTunes does it)
• Option to fix corrupt timestamps in ML and iPod
• syncs changed genre during smartsync
• Hotkey “copy currently playing song to iPod”
• tag for reverse sync

Fixed:

• Crash when iTunesDB and mlipodSmartPlaylists do not fit together
• better coexistence with iTunes, does not destroy iTunes settings for specific songs
• AlbumArt that is loaded with iTunes or Anapod will be visible on iPod even after transfering songs with ml_ipod (but still ml_ipod does NOT download any album art itself)
• RefreshAll smart playlists button works again
• Last played timestamps were garbeled
• Smart sync ratings sometimes used wrong timestamps
• time zone handling (daylight time)
• #1242625: Aborting “remove playlist and files” works now
• #1426680: Ratings that are set to 0 on iPod are now sync’ed
• #1195852: SmartSync ratings does no longer depend on the songs being completely played on iPod (rating is synced even if lastplaytime has not changed)

Internal:

• Updated workspace for easier compilation (*.dsp, jnetlib files)
