It’s been quiet for a while, but Nullsoft has once again released a new version of Winamp. This media player can be downloaded in different variants. The Lite version can only play music files; the Full version also allows viewing video files and listening to Shoutcast broadcasts. Furthermore, the Full version has a media library and can be used to rip CDs. Finally, there is the Pro version, which costs 13.50 euros. The Pro version allows you to encode files, burn CDs and play video files with h264 compression, among other things. In version 5.63, the following changes and improvements have been made:

• Hungarian and Indonesian installer translations and language packs
• [enc_vorbis] Ogg Vorbis Encoder (based on aoTuV)

improved:

• Shift+F10 app key support in the Media Library
• [enc_fhgaac] Added VBR mode 6, plus other minor quality improvements
• [in_mod] Refactored, simplified and threadsafe memory allocation
• [ml_history] Save playcounts when updated instead of only on exit
• [ml_local] Increased search query buffers from 512 or 1024 to 2048 bytes
• [gen_hotkeys] Added manual advance and visualization specific actions

• Embedded album art not working in some scenarios
