Download Web Tracks 2018 10.04
Web Tracks is the continuation of Mouse Tracks, a Windows application with which a helpdesk and goods management administration can be set up. Web Tracks now does this as a web application on a Windows server with IIS. For example, help desk tickets with the corresponding resolution times and different work groups can be kept, computer inventories can be made, including an overview of the available software licenses, and different relationships can be established between all components for the generation of reports. For an overview of the different editions and their options, we refer to this page. The developers of Gritware have released Web Tracks 2018 10.04 with the following changes:
What’s New in Web Tracks 2018 (10.04)
BUG FIXES
- Fixed an issue where the Tech Group member count could display incorrectly if a technician was was inactive or had their tech rights removed. This bug did not cause functional issues.
- Added Custom Errors=”Off” to the web.config file. This is required by Web Tracks so informational messages can be properly displayed to remote clients.
UNDER THE HOOD
- Updated our 3rd Party Email API to the latest version.

BUG FIXES
- Admin–Audit Computers–Import Audits now works properly.
- Removed “xbtn_misc” text from Receive Purchase Order Line Items button.
- Help Button is now available inside Admin–Email Settings
- Fixed a JavaScript error on the main page. This didn’t cause functional issues but on some browsers an error was reported.

NEW FEATURES
- Line Graphs that group by a date field will now breakout in to months. This allows you to create line graphs that represent data over different time periods. For example you could create a line graph for Tickets created per month, or a work hours per month type of chart.
- We plan to expand this feature in a future version by allowing the time span to be customizable (eg, week, month, quarter, etc.) rather than only by month.
What’s New in Web Tracks 2018 (10.01)
NEW FEATURES
- Smart Sizing is now handled on the server side and not on the client (browser) side. If you have the Smart Sizing enabled you will no longer see screen re-size flicker when pages load.
- When merging a ticket, a pager option is now displayed when choosing the target ticket.
- Selecting white (#FFFFFF) as the color for highlighting rows in grids now turns off highlighting. Previously there was no way to turn this off. If white was chosen, the font was unreadable when a row was selected as the font color is also white when a row is selected. This applies to Ticket Late Color, Ticket Warn Color, PO Late Color, PO Warn Color, Private Technician Comment Color, Flagged Software Color, and Asset Flag Color. These color settings are available in Admin–Application Settings.
- Bar Graphs and Line Graphs now display their x-axis labels vertically. In most cases, this change allows all labels to be visible without overlap.
BUG FIXES
- Graphs now format currency fields as currency rather than as a general number.
- Installer now creates a shortcut for the Report Editor.
- Fixed an issue where reports and graphs would not save their filters.
What’s New in Web Tracks 2018 (10.00)
MAJOR NEW FEATURES
- Mobile Friendly Adaptive Layout – The interface will automatically adapt to mobile devices, tablets, and desktop browser interfaces. Simply point your device’s browser to the same URL you use on your desktop (don’t forget to create a bookmark).
- CC Users on Help Desk Tickets – CC’d users will receive notifications, and are able to add comments to help desk tickets to which they are CC’d. This will make a process, such as requisitions, more streamlined since the requester can now “CC” the approving manager on their request. The CC feature also lays the framework for the ticket merge feature.
- Ticket Merging – Tickets may now be merged together. For example, let’s say a few users reported the same problem. You can now merge these tickets together. Original descriptions, comments, & attachments, will all move to the “parent” ticket. The requesters of “child” tickets will become CC’d users on the parent ticket.
- Access to SQL Upsize Wizard – Previously moving from the Standard Edition (MS Access database) to the Enterprise Edition (SQL Server database) required a copy of a specific version of Microsoft Access, and a complex/error prone manual process. The new upsize wizard built in to Web Tracks makes this process a snap. This feature is available within Web Tracks from the Admin — License & Registration section.
- Unified Installer – Web Tracks now handles making sure that required Windows Features (namely IIS) are installed and configured with the optimal requirements to run Web Tracks. It will not alter nor remove any currently configured settings. You should notice a speedy first response when accessing Web Tracks!
MINOR FEATURES
- Trailing line breaks are now stripped from comments when processed by the Email-To-Ticket converter.
- The due date of a ticket can be changed by technicians (assuming they have permissions) from the ticket list right-click context menu.
- Increased default attachment size limit for new databases from 500k to 1MB.
- Grid column resizes are now automatically saved. Previously this required one to sort the grid to have the column width saved.
- Fields are now sorted by their label value rather than database field name when choosing fields in reports and graphs.
- Added Join option for reports and graphs that ties Users to Peripherals.
- Removed “Record Must be first be Saved” dialog that pops up when saving a related record to the base record. The base record is now automatically saved in these situations.
- The default font and link style has been updated to a more modern look.
- Added the ability to hide the related assets tab and control on the Service Desk detail form. If you are not using this feature it can be turned off from the Admin–Application Settings–Service Desk section.
BUG FIXES
- Email-To-Ticket converter — Fixed bug that could cause email commands to not be processed (eg, status=closed) if the command text was the only text included in the reply.
- Fixed a bug in Admin–Manage Attachments where clicking “View Parent Record” would not always take you to the correct parent record.
- Fixed a bug where a tab’s header would appear disconnected from the tab content when viewing in the Chrome browser.
