Download VirtualBox 4.1.10

Oracle has released the fifth update for version 4.1 of VirtualBox. VirtualBox can be used to install other operating systems in a virtual environment on a computer. In this way it is possible to use different operating systems on the same hardware side by side and at the same time. VirtualBox is available for Windows XP and above, Mac OS X, Linux, and Solaris, and is capable of many guest operating systems to turn.

The VirtualBox download contains only open source components. Some features, including support for USB 2.0 ports and the remote display protocol, are closed source and can be added by installing the VirtualBox Extension Pack. This one extension is under a Personal Use and Evaluation license, i.e. PUEL. In version 4.1.10 the following changes and improvements have been made:

• GUI: if 3D support on the host is not available for some reason, do not only disable this VM setting but also uncheck the checkbox
• VMM: fixed a potential problem causing to schedule interrupts during SYSEXIT right after STI

• Storage: fixed a possible data corruption when compacting VDI or VHD images with snapshots (32-bit hosts only)
• iSCSI: fixed crash when using incorrect credentials when authenticating with a LIO target (bug #10173)
• Serial: don’t abort in host mode under rare error conditions (non-Windows hosts only)
• SDK: actually ship current C bindings
• SDK: fixed the Java glue code for JDK 1.7.0 (bug #9848)
• SDK: added Python example
• Metrics: make metrics collection more robust regarding blocked VMs
