Download UseBB 1.0.5

The developers behind UseBB have just released the fifth update to the 1.0 codebase of this open source bulletin board program. UseBB is intended for a website with a small to medium group of visitors and is developed in PHP and MySQL and is therefore platform independent. UseBB 1.0 is already from mid 2004 and the development team realizes that there are quite a few things that could be improved. That is why we are working hard on version 2.0 and only minor updates for the 1.0 version are appearing. If the weather gods are with us, we can have a first preview in the form of version 1.99 this summer to expect. In any case, the changelog of this release looks like this:

Changes include but are not limited to:

• various bugs fixed (including with MySQL 5, BBCode and Abyss);
• avatars are now resized when needed using JavaScript instead of always using HTML;
• topic view counts are now increased once per user’s session;
• spam proof email addresses now shown as HTML entities.
