Download Update: AC3Filter 1.05a

Alexander Vigovsky has just released version 1.04a of the AC3Filter and immediately followed it up with 1.05a. The AC3Filter is a DirectShow filter that decodes and edits sound in movie files in real time. It is mainly intended to play files with surround sound, such as AC3 and DTS. It is also capable of outputting the sound from the digital output (S/PDIF) to process. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:

Changes in AC3Filter 1.05a:

• Extended AC3 saintly checks disabled. How it recognizes AC3 files produced with buggy encoder (see more at forum). All projects updated.
• Stream format algorithm updated at AC3File. Now it may work with streams shorter than 30 sec.

Changes in AC3Filter 1.04a:

• SPDIF pass-through did not work with Program Stream (DVD)
• SPDIF had jitter with DVD
• Cannot enable SPDIF with some sound cards (found on HDSP 9632)
• Uninstall now deletes pis folder
