Download Unofficial 98 Option Pack 1.1

Regular visitors to the junk tracker are probably familiar with the unofficial service pack for Windows 98SE. It consists of a collection of critical patches that can be downloaded from Windows Update plus some third party programs and tweaks. However, updates such as Internet Explorer 6, DirectX 9 and the Windows Media Player are not included and will therefore have to be installed separately. Ryan Seaboyer, known on the MSFN forum as the_guy, has now assembled an Unofficial 98 Option Pack and it contains the latest updates for Internet Explorer 6 SP1, Windows Media Player 9.0 (98SE), Windows Media Player 7.1 (98FE), and DirectX. The Unofficial 98 Option Pack is available in two flavors; the Lite version contains the so-called web installers and is 33.5MB in size. The Full version contains the full installation of the aforementioned software and thus does not require Internet during installation. However, this download weighs 100MB.
