Ubuntu Tweak is a program that can be used to tweak an Ubuntu Linux installation. This is of course superfluous for the seasoned Linux fan, but for the novice user it can be a solution, because it does not require him to dive into all kinds of how-tos and man pages. New in version 0.8.0 is the Apps tab, which makes it easy to install or remove software, even software that cannot be installed via the Ubuntu Software Center. It is still work-in-progress; for example, it only works in English and only one application can be installed at a time. More information is here and this is the changelog for version 0.8.0:
