Ubuntu has released the first version of JeOS via its own mailing list announced. JeOS – Just Enough Operating System, pronounced ‘juice’ – is an Ubuntu Linux 7.10 based operating system specifically designed to run in virtual environments. For example, the operating system has been stripped of unnecessary packages and the kernel has been optimized for virtual use. More information about JeOS can be found in this article.
