Cerulean Studios has released a new beta release of version 5.0 of the instant messaging program Trillian Astra, its second this week. Trillian Astra allows chatting with users of many instant messaging and social networks, including Windows Live, ICQ, Skype (text only), Twitter and Facebook. Trillian Astra is available for Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android and BlackBerry. In addition, there is a version that runs in a web browser and can therefore be used anywhere. Version 5 mainly improves social media capabilities and adds support for Foursquare.

In version 5.0 build 30 beta synchronization has been added between the clients of the various platforms supported by Trillian. This prevents a conversation that started on a desktop or laptop from being continued on the road, from the point where the conversation was, while preserving the history. In build 31 we only find bug fixes.
