Cerulean Studios has released version 4.1 of the instant messaging program Trillian Astra. Trillian Astra allows chatting with users of a variety of instant messaging and social networks, including Windows Live, ICQ, Skype (text only), Twitter and Facebook. Currently, Trillian Astra is available for Windows, as an app for Apple’s iPhone, and there is a version that runs in a web browser. A client for Mac OS X is in development. Trillian 4.1 includes a number of exciting new features aimed at improving your mail experience and furthering integration with Windows 7, Twitter, and Facebook:

• More Advanced Email
  Preview incoming emails quickly. Mark mail as read on the fly.
• Tweet From Contact List
  Tweet right from the contact list at your option, complete with a character count.
• Windows 7 Support
  Set your status using jump lists. See your status from the Windows 7 Taskbar.
• Twitpic Integration
  Insert images or screenshots in the Twitter window to embed Twitpic links automatically.
• Better Notifications
  Similar notifiers are grouped and can be browsed easily. Place notifications in any corner.
• Facebook Chat
  Type in your email and password in the connection manager and chat right away.
• New Layout for News Feeds
  Clickable links everywhere and scrollable info cards.
• More Twitter Tools
  Intelligent character counter, Twitter searches, improved integration with bit.ly.
