Transmission is a BitTorrent client that can do its job on Mac OS X, Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris. The program written in C has a clear graphical interface that makes downloading files a breeze. The developer has released another new version, this time with 1.51 as the version number that fixes some bugs from the previous release. The list of changes since the previous entry in the Meuktracker shows us the following:

All Platforms:

• Fix configure script issues with non-gcc compilers and user-defined CFLAGS environment variables
• Decrease CPU usage in some situations
• Close a rare race condition on startup
• More efficient use of libcurl when curl 7.18.0 or newer is present

GTK+:

• Play nicely with Ubuntu’s new notification server
• Add Pause All and Resume All buttons

Web Client:

• Support for Internet Explorer
• Layout fixes when viewed on an iPhone/iPod touch
