PC Tools, known for its Spyware Doctor, Registry Mechanic and PC Tools Antivirus programs, released version 4.6.0.19 of ThreatFire on Thursday. This program aims to protect the computer against viruses, spyware and identity theft. However, it is not intended to be a standalone product, but to complement existing antivirus and firewall software protection. It monitors certain behavior patterns, such as keyboard strokes, for example, and thus offers protection against spyware, adware, keyloggers, viruses, worms, Trojans, rootkits, buffer overflows and other forms of malware. What exactly has changed in this release is unclear, because the changelog is very similar to that of version 4.5:
