The Gimp, an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program, is a photo editing program and is considered by many to be the open source counterpart to Adobe Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop Pro. The program is available for various operating systems such as Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. The developers have released a new development version with 2.3.18 as the version number.
