Spread the love

The new beta release of TeamViewer version 10.0 has been released. This program allows remote management of other computers via a secure VPN connection. TeamViewer is free for non-commercial use and is being developed for Windows, Linux, OS X, iOS and Android. It is not necessary for the side that is being taken over to install the program, although you can of course do so. In version 10 we find performance improvements, there is support for 4k resolutions and there will also be a BlackBerry version.

Optimized performance
The performance of some of TeamViewer 10’s features has been significantly optimized. Optimized CPU usage for multi-core processors, HD call quality, and reduced time to log into and load the Management Console are just a few examples.

Central settings
Customize, distribute, and enforce settings as needed, all through the Management Console. Any changes to the settings are automatically applied to all installations. IT administrators will be pleased that importing .reg files is a thing of the past.

Manage whitelist
Grant access to all your devices with just one whitelist. You no longer need to grant users access on each specific device through the whitelist. Now also reduce administrative work by adding companies to the whitelist instead of managing access rights for individual users.

Chat history and persistent chat groups
Refer back to a previous conversation to find information or solve a problem. TeamViewer 10 provides a complete chat history for all conversations, and chats are encrypted in their entirety end-to-end. Also create persistent chat groups for ongoing discussions.

One-click video calls
Connect with your colleagues using video and VoIP in excellent quality for both image and sound without having to start a meeting first. See and talk to multiple participants simultaneously in a single conversation and share your screen at any time. As always, security is paramount with TeamViewer, so video calls are encrypted end-to-end just like regular screen-sharing meetings.

Add your profile picture
Give your name a face and personalize your online presence. Your profile picture will be displayed in the Computers & Contacts list, the chat window, in inquiry dialogs and in similar places where it is useful to know your identity and give your professional image that little bit extra.

Automatically find contacts nearby
Quickly find the right person or device to share your screen or files. TeamViewer 10 now automatically displays nearby computers and contacts.

Ultra high definition – 4K display – support
Ultra high definition monitors, also known as 4K displays, are becoming increasingly popular for their incredibly true-to-life images. Through intelligent tuning, TeamViewer 10 provides flawless connections to 4K displays for both remote control and meeting sessions.

Greater emphasis on your corporate identity
Customizations are now applied to the download site for the custom modules as well as the waiting room for meetings and service requests. This makes your company identity even more prominent.

Real-time notes on session
Keep a report during a remote control session or jot down something the moment it comes to mind. You don’t have to wait until the end of a session to take notes.

New design of TeamViewer 10
Modern software should also look like this. TeamViewer 10 boasts a streamlined design and convenient new shortcuts to commonly used functions and options. The TeamViewer user interface was already intuitive, but is now even easier to use.

Computers & Contacts API
Integrate your computers and contacts into any software by taking advantage of the Computers & Contacts API. For example, see when your customers are online or add a “connect button” to each computer in an inventory program. Sync information so you can easily manage, edit and access your contacts and inventory within your software.

Inactive session timeout
With session timeout limits that can be set per user, support providers and their customers never have to worry about inactive sessions being left open.

Service Requests in TeamViewer Host
In addition to unattended access, set up spontaneous support. Users can request spontaneous support that automatically generates a service request. There is no need to run any other module.

Integration with Dropbox, Google Drive and more
Share files during meetings or remote control sessions using dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or Box. Keep your files available to share from anywhere. Since your data is already in the cloud, you save both time and bandwidth.

Door lock for online meetings
Make final preparations before unlocking the door, or encourage participants to be on time by locking the door after a meeting has started. But rest assured, you can always see who is waiting outside and invite them to participate.

Remote Control Whiteboard
The whiteboard is now available during remote control. After all, a picture can say more than a thousand words when you try to explain something. Both connecting parties can also use the whiteboard at the same time.

Blackberry app (preview)
The TeamViewer remote control app is now available for BlackBerry.

  • Control computers remotely as if you were sitting in front of them.
  • Transfer files in both directions.
  • Enjoy the highest security standards: 256 bit AES Session Encoding, 2048 Bit RSA Key Exchange.

Get the best of Mac OS X Yosemite
Take advantage of a seamlessly integrated remote control toolbar designed specifically for Mac OS X Yosemite.

Innovations for Mac OS X and Linux
Most of the features described above are available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. TeamViewer 10 also includes features designed specifically for Mac OS X and Linux.

New Features for Mac OS X

  • Customize your QuickJoin and Host modules
  • Use all the features of the whiteboard, even during remote control sessions
