Sony has before her PXW-Z280 handheld camcorders released new firmware with 4.00 as the version number. Capable of recording 50p/60p footage in 4K, these include a 1/2″ back-illuminated Exmor-R-3CMOS sensor and a built-in lens with a range of 30.3 to 515mm that extends the optical zoom to 17x The short list of changes looks like this:
