Download Songbird 1.0 rc3

The third and most likely last release candidate of Songbird 1.0 was released on Friday. Songbird is an open source and cross platform program that can play music files. It is being developed by Poti, short for ‘Pioneers of the Inevitable’. This group includes developers who were involved with Winamp and Yahoo Music Engine, among others. The main change in version 1.0 is that Gstreamer is now used for media playback. This should deliver better performance and reliability and, in the future, more functionality. 1.0 RC3 is now available for download!

Thanks to everyone who has been providing feedback to our latest RC’s. This update contains bug fixes and final tweaks. We’re closing in on a Final build and would like to make sure that you don’t see anything you might consider a show stopper.
