Download Songbird 0.6.1

Version 0.6.1 of Songbird was released on Wednesday. This version is an update for version 0.6 a week and a half ago. Songbird is an open source and cross platform media player created by Poti, short for ‘Pioneers of the Inevitable’. This group of developers was previously involved with Winamp and the Yahoo Music Engine. A large number of improvements have been made in version 0.6. Not only has the performance been improved, the music library can now contain many more songs. Furthermore, the metadata (tags) can be adjusted, portable music players that support mtp can be synchronized under Windows and the iPod support has been improved. Of course, after releasing a version with many changes, some bugs were found and this release solves at least the following three problems:

The following bugs were fixed for the Songbird 0.6.1 release:

• Scan for media hangs on certain files. (10191)
• 0.5 -> 0.5.1 -> 0.6 complete upgrade causes Media Core Error failure upon 0.6 launch (10307)
• taglib not packaged properly (10338)
