The developers of Songbird have released a new beta version of the music player in the form of 0.4 RC1 released. Songbird is an open source and cross platform music player that uses XULRunner and VLC. The player can play mp3, wma, aac, ogg and flac files, among others. Songbird is being developed with the idea of ​​counterbalancing programs such as Apple iTunes and Windows Media Player. It is not only capable of running music files, local playlists and music databases, but can also play music files, playlists and music databases that are on the web. • Bug free preferences/options.
• List views now retain users sorting preferences and column reordering.
• The popular “JumpTo” feature is back!
• Faster, smoother window resize.
• Many memory leaks fixed.
