SMPlayer is an open source media player that can work on different platforms. It plays a range of formats and supports various output drivers, such as X11, Xv, DGA, OpenGL, SVGAlib, fbdev, AAlib, and DirectFB. The program can also display images using hardware MPEG decoders, such as the Siemens DVB, DXR2, and DXR3/Hollywood+. SMPlayer is a media player that uses MPlayer in the background to display images, but also adds functionality of its own, such as YouTube support, automatic subtitle search, and skins to customize the appearance. Version 17.4.2

• New option (menu View -> OSD) to display the times with milliseconds.
• New fix for the thumbnail generator that works also with older versions of mpv.
• Bugfix: the position of the video is remembered when it’s opened by drag & drop.
• The Windows installer won’t install mpv on Windows XP since mpv is no longer compatible with Windows XP.
• New option to use the mplayer ffhevcvdpau decoder (Linux only).
• Avoid some crashes from mpv.
