Download SmoothWall GPL 2.0 beta4

Codenamed Mallard, the makers of SmoothWall have released a new release. In beta version 4, Linux kernel 2.4.19, the ext3 file system and a new user interface have been added. You can read what has changed in the release notesbelow are the changes in brief:

Specifications include: 2.4.19 kernel (as of beta0), new user interface (beta0), ext3 filesystem (beta0), iptables (beta0), increased support for USB ADSL devices, including Thomson/Alcatel Speedtouch, US Robotics SureConnect and Fujitsu/ Westell (ECI chipset devices) (much improved in beta4).

This beta release, beta4, is quite important in that we are now approaching final build status. We’d like as many people to test this as possible, especially those with ECI chipset USB ADSL modems, such as Zoom, Eicon Diva, Solwise SAR100/EA100, and Xentrix.
