Download Skypesee 0.54b beta
In the submit we found the following text from Koriel: “Skypesee (other name to follow) is a small application of 320 kilobytes that offers full screen video conferencing. It is still in an alpha phase, but in the video field it is already a great one. The audio part still has a lot of bugs, but in previous versions it has already been shown that it is quite possible to deliver synchronous audio and video with a very small delay. Skypesee is free and supports all webcams. There seem to be some problems if both parties are behind a Network Address Translation, but opening a UDP port can help.”
The latest beta version has been made available on the Skypesee forum in the form of 0.54b. This update is from here to take down. What exactly has changed in the new-fangled version has unfortunately not been disclosed, but probably some unknown bugs have been squashed. A small manual of Skypesee can here to be found. Today another new version of Skypesee is expected, which will ship with the following changelog:
ver 054c release tonight
- faster video id generation
- faster connection time
- displays quality and audio status in lcd window
The quality settings have now changed. quality 1 is still the best, but ive made it so quality 1 is like the old quality 3. this is because the old quality 1 was requiring over 250k/sec bandwidth, and froze most peoples calls. the new quality 1 is still very high, but usuable on highend connections..
