Skype has been developing version 4.0 of its eponymous voip program for Windows for a while now, but that doesn’t mean the current stable 3.8 branch has been forgotten. To prove that, they released version 3.8.188 today. With Skype it is possible to communicate with other Skype users by means of text, speech, image, or a combination thereof. It is also possible to send each other files or, for example, to play a game. Connections from computer to computer are free and calls can also be made to landlines and mobile phones for a small fee. This release includes the following three bug fixes:

• bugfix: Improved search for contacts that have not signed into Skype for a long time.
• bugfix: Incorrect setting for online status in Options
• bug fix: Skype occasionally crashed on shutdown
