For secure online conferences you can use the protocol Secure Internet Live Conferencing, better known by its abbreviation SILC. The design is aimed from the outset to create a secure environment and includes many features of IRC and IM protocols. Support for multimedia messages is available and it can also be used for video and audio conferences. SILC Server is, as the name suggests, a server application for setting up a SILC environment. The developers have released version 1.0.3 with the following change:

• Fixed a denial of service vulnerability: If invalid hmac or cipher was specified on joining a channel, server crashed.
