Download Shareaza 2.4.0.0

The Shareaza Development Team released version 2.4.0.0 of its eponymous p2p file sharing program yesterday. Shareaza allows files to be shared across Edonkey2000, Gnutella, Gnutella2, and Bittorrent networks. This update comes nine months after version 2.3.1.0 and there has been a lot of tinkering with the program; the changelog contains more than 900 changes. In this release, support for Windows 9x has been discontinued, but that for Windows Vista has been improved. The 64-bit version of version 2.3.1.0 was apparently unsuccessful, as there is only one download available. Furthermore, the program is now bundled with Torrentwizard and there is a new irc module for chatting. The release notes for version 2.4.0.0 also look like this:

Windows 98/Me support has been discontinued -and Vista enhanced- as signs of multi-generation upgrades in underlying platforms. TorrentWizard is now bundled, new IRC Chat provides easy support and community, and countless new and improved features are both subtly throughout and unseen.

Note: Upgrading from any prior version should be considered safe, however downgrading back from 2.4 to prior releases may lose active downloads. A clean install should clear up any unusual behaviors.
