Piriform, the name behind the popular cleaning tool Crap Cleaner, has released a new beta release of Recuva. Recuva is an alternate spelling for the English word ‘Recover’, which is exactly what the program does; trying to retrieve files that have been deleted from the computer, but also from digital camera memory cards or an MP3 player, for example. The program can handle all versions of Windows, with the exception of Windows NT. In this version, among other things, memory management has been improved, when the program has to deal with a large number of files, and it can better handle a damaged MFT.
